Manasmitra Training of Trainers Workshop Garners Wide
Recognition
Patambi: The innovative “Manasmitra” project, spearheaded by MLA Shri
Muhammed
Muhassin, has taken a significant stride in promoting mental health and
emotional
well-being among students. As part of this pioneering initiative, a
two-day Training of
Trainers (ToT) Workshop was held on August 27 and 28 at Nakshtara
Regency, Koppam,
inaugurated virtually by Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty.
The program is designed to empower students with stronger minds and
greater resilience,
addressing urgent challenges such as anxiety, depression, suicidal
tendencies, and social
media addiction. The core objective of the workshop was to prepare a
dedicated network
of trained volunteers capable of guiding young people toward healthier
and more
meaningful lives.
More than forty trainers, each with advanced qualifications in Social
Work or Psychology,
underwent intensive sessions conducted by Kerala's leading psychologists
and mental
health experts.
This initiative is unprecedented in India—it is the first time a mental
health-focused
program has been introduced at the level of a legislative constituency.
Manasmitra has
already gained statewide recognition, with the Kerala Legislative
Assembly commending its
vision and progress in its recent session.
